Toms River, NJ – The law firm of Carluccio, Leone, Dimon, Doyle & Sacks, L.L.C. (CLDDS) is pleased to announce that retired Judge Vincent J. Grasso, A.J.S.C. has joined the expanding Ocean County law firm as Of Counsel on July 1, 2015.
The firm partners are pleased to bring Judge Grasso’s wealth of experience as a respected jurist to our clients. He is a welcome addition and will unquestionably be an asset to the firm. Judge Grasso is well known and respected for his judicial temperament and his commitment to justice, and our clients will undoubtedly benefit from his tenure here. With the addition of Judge Grasso, the firm has now grown to include fifteen attorneys and a support staff of more than twenty, making it among the largest and most diversified in the county. The firm’s attorneys have served as municipal counsel, planning board and board of adjustment counsel, utility board counsel, business administrator, bank counsel, certified trial lawyers, certified elder law attorneys, and board of education counsel.
Prior to joining CLDDS, Judge Grasso was the Assignment Judge for Ocean County Superior Court. He attended Columbia University, graduating in 1972 with a B.A. in Economics; and Vermont Law School, receiving a J.D. in 1976. After twelve years of practice and five years of service as an Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor, Judge Grasso was appointed by Governor Thomas Kean to the Superior Court of New Jersey, Ocean County and was sworn in on July 14, 1989. With his retirement on July 1, 2015, he was just two weeks shy of 26 years of service on the bench.
Judge Grasso has served in all Divisions of the Superior Court, first assigned to the Family Part from 1989 to 1994 and then the Criminal Part from 1994 to 1998. Judge Grasso served his second assignment in the Family Division as Presiding Judge for six years before returning to the Criminal Division in 2004. He was serving as Presiding Judge of General Equity when he was named Assignment Judge of Ocean County by former Chief Justice James Zazzali on July 5, 2007.
In addition, Judge Grasso chaired a statewide committee which revised the Domestic Violence Manual, which was comprised of members of the judiciary throughout the State of New Jersey. He has served on various Supreme Court committees and has lectured at Judicial College. He currently serves as Chair of the Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Extra-Judicial Activities and serves on the Judiciary Budget and Planning Committee. Judge Grasso recently chaired the Supreme Court ad hoc Committee on Judicial Disqualification. In 2014-2015, Judge Grasso chaired the New Jersey Judicial Council of Assignment Judges.
