I met with Fran Pannella, Associate Director of the Alzheimer’s Association. The Association is a great resource if you are caring for a loved one diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. Their Helpline provides 24 hour, toll-free information and assistance and is professionally staffed. The Association also provides care consultations, support groups and has a number of books and educational materials available for loan. Fran is also available to speak to any support groups, or community groups and provides free educational material about the Association.
If you have any questions about legal issues facing someone diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, contact my office, Diana L. Anderson, Esquire, CELA, for a free consultation. An early diagnosis can mean more effective treatment, andit may still be possible to do additional estate planning documents.
