Ocean County Superior Court, Family Division celebrated National Adoption Day on November 18th. National Adoption Day is an annual event that seeks to raise public awareness of the number of children in foster care waiting to find permanent and loving families. On National Adoption Day, courts and communities across the country conduct events to finalize the adoption of children in foster care and to celebrate the adoptive families. The event in Ocean County was a huge success, finalizing 16 adoptions. The adoptive mothers each received a beautiful corsage while the child to be adopted received a backpack with wheels, a teddy bear and a gift card. A celebratory reception was held at the Ocean County Library immediately following the adoptions.
I had the opportunity of participating in this year’s National Adoption Day in Ocean County as I was fortunate to represent two families with their adoptions. It is so rewarding to be involved in such a happy event. Congratulations to all!
